Q3. How is primary industry classified?

Ans. Primary industry can be classified into:

  1. Extractive Industry: These industry involve extraction of products from natural resources such as minerals from earth, fish from rivers, timber from forest, etc. Important extractive industries include farming, mining, fishing, hunting.
  2. Genetic Industry: It includes all those industries which are engaged in breeding plants and animals for their use in further reproduction. Example- Important genetic industries includes poultry industry, cattle breeding.
