Number data type formats in BASE.

Q15. Discuss the various Number data type formats available in BASE.

Ans. Numeric data types are further categorized into two types, namely, Whole-Number data type and Fractional data type.

Table 1 describes four Whole-Number data types:

Data Type Description
Tiny Integer [TINYINT] Allows you to store data with s fixed length of three (3) spaces. In other words, you can store data of three-digit numbers.
Small Integer [SMALLINT] Allows you to store data with s fixed length of five (5) spaces. In other words, you can store data of five-digit numbers.
Integer [INT] Allows you to store data with s fixed length of ten (10) spaces. It includes the auto value feature, which helps you enter a previously set value automatically.
Big Integer [BIGINT] Allows you to store data with s fixed length of nineteen (19) spaces. Similar to the Integer [INT] data type, this data type also has the auto value feature.
