Page Fault

Q1. Explain Page fault.

Ans. A page is hardware or software interrupt (depending upon the implementation) which passes control to the operating system. The operating system proceeds to locate the missing page in the swap area and move it back to the free frame of the physical memory. It then binds the address by updating the page table and when control returns to the waiting process, the missing page is automatically restored, as if it had never been gone.
