Q36. What is control bus? How is it different from other buses?
Ans. Control bus consists of various lines which have specific functions for coordinating and controlling microprocessor operations. This tells memory that we reading from a location, specified on the address bus, or writing to a location specified.
The control bus carries control signals partly unidirectional and partly bi directional.
The address bus is uni directional, I.e., addresses are sent from microprocessor to memory, not the other way.
The data bus is bi directional as it can carry information in both directions CPU to memory and vice versa.
