Activity for Convex Mirror.

Q23. With the help of an activity explain whether the image will move closer to or farther away from the focus as the object is moved away from a convex mirror.
Ans. Take a convex mirror. Hold it in one hand. Hold a pencil in the upright position on the other hand. Observe the image of the pencil in the mirror. Move the pencil away from the mirror slowly. Repeat this activity carefully.
When we hold a pencil in the upright position in front of a convex mirror we observe the image of the pencil in the mirror at the back of the mirror. The image is erect, virtual and smaller in size than the object. as the pencil is moved away from the mirror, the image becomes smaller and smaller. On repeating the activity, we find that as the object is moved away from the mirror, the image would move closer to the focus of the mirror.
